A member of the force who at the date of
completed ten years of pensionable
retirement has XXXXXX
service will be eligible for a pension at the rate provided
under the Police Force Ordinance 1932. That rate is 14/50th
of pensionable salary in respect of the firts ten years of
service plus 1/600th of pensionable salary for each month
of service after the first ten years, and with a further addi
-tion of 1/600th in respect of each completemonth of service
beyond 20 years until the maximum pension of two-thirds of
salary is reached.

A member who retires before completing ten years
to
of service will be eligible for a gratuitţ equivalent
1/120th of annual salary for each completed month of service.
Every member of the pre-war European non gazetted
establishment is requested to state in writing before 31st
December 1946, whether (I) He wishes to retire now on the
terms set out in paragraph 6 and 7 above, or whether
(II) He wishes to remain in the Force:

As regards paragraph 2 (II) above the new salary
for Sub-Inspectors which became effective on the 1st of
January last, commences at £260 per annum and rises to £430
per annum by six annual increments of £10, two of £15, one of
£20 and four of £15. After three years of service on the
maximum salary ofor Sub-Inspectore ( £430 perannum) and
subject to passing an efficiency bar a Sub-Inspector is
promoted to the rank of Inspector on the scale of £475 per
annum by three annual increments of £20 to £535 per annum.
Promotion to the rank of Chief Inspector on the scale £600
per annum, by four annual increments of £25 to £700 per annum
is by selection on merit and depends upon vacancies in the gr
grade of Chief Inspectors:
